Part 1a & 1b of a 4 part block of the month.  

This block is done with wool applique' on a "Woolies" flannel background.  Each pattern also provides alternate directions to make the applique' using "Woolies" or Penny Rug" flannels.

Combine all 4 parts (patterns 1735-1738) to make a 38" x 38" wall hanging.  Assembly directions for the wool version is found in  and the flannel version in 

Included in this pattern are cutting directions to make a larger approx. 56" x 62" all flannel version using the "Penny Rug" line of flannels.  Directions to assemble this quilt can be found in pattern .
